
Cameron Lavergne
Miss Black Montgomery County
Crowned Miss Black Montgomery County in 2019, Cameron Lavergne has spent the years since making an impact across athletics, academics, community service, and her professional career.
A proud graduate of the Illustrious Prairie View A&M University, she earned her degree in Civil Engineering while excelling as a standout athlete. Her leadership on the softball field earned her First Team Preseason (2020) and Second Team All-Conference honors (2021). In 2024, she and her teammates made history as the first softball team ever inducted into the Prairie View A&M Sports Hall of Fame—an honor that solidified their legacy.
Professionally, she thrives in the fast-paced world of technology and strategy consulting. Her work allows her to build strong relationships with clients across the country while developing innovative solutions to modern challenges. While working full time, Cameron also earned her Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management from the University of Louisiana- Lafayette, a familiar place for her as southwest Louisiana is home for most of her extended family and beloved grandparents.
Passionate about service, Cameron is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Xi Alpha Omega Chapter. She dedicates her time to environmental initiatives and serves on the scholarship committee, which recently awarded over $20,000 in scholarships to deserving students in the Houston metro area.
She also invests in the next generation through her role as a youth coach and mentor at the Houston Astros Urban Youth Academy, where she helps provide baseball and softball instruction to more than 600 children annually—while also instilling essential life skills that extend far beyond the game.
In her free time, Cameron stays active by competing in sand volleyball and co-ed softball leagues. A world traveler at heart, one of her most cherished experiences was attending the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Guided by the words of Matthew 5:13 – "You are the salt of the earth..." – she seeks to be a light in every space she enters, using her talents and platform to uplift others and reflect her faith.
From community service and athletics to professional excellence, Cameron continues to live out her mission of empowerment through leadership, purpose, and service.
